One of the TOUGHEST AND RAREST pediatric trauma case with Coexisting illness..
This 7 year old child presented to us in emergency in comatose state with pulse and BP not recordable after having a fall from roof.. Child was taken on ventilator and stabilised.. Child was a known case of Chronic ITP ( IDIOPATHIC THROMBOCYTOPENIC PURPURA ) ( a rare disease of platelets having tendency of bleeding )..On evaluation he was having 30000 platelets and thereby blood was leaking continuously and had FRACTURE SKULL with LARGE EDH… Child was taken for neurosurgery by Dr Abhishek Goyal.. Collectively patient was transfused with 10 units of blood and blood products..
Our joint efforts of Pediatric, Neurosurgical, OT and PICU team could save the child and now patient is discharged in fully conscious state..
